The longtime head of CBS’ 60 Minutes resigned Tuesday, as the network’s parent company grapples with President Trump’s lawsuit over an interview the show did with Kamala Harris last fall.
Bill Owens, the executive producer for CBS News’ flagship “60 Minutes” program, announced he will resign from the top job on Tuesday, saying that he no longer had control over the show.
Bill Owens’ departure from the Sunday news magazine comes as CBS faces a $20 billion lawsuit from President Trump and the network’s parent company works towards a multimillion-dollar sale.
